The BEAR Back to School program is the annual initiative that provides school supplies, school uniforms and backpacks to children in need under the care of Child Protective Services (CPS) in Harris County. Volunteers are needed to help organize the BEAR warehouse by placing school uniforms, supplies and backpacks in its appropriate category by size and sex. Once the items are organized, volunteers assist with assembling a back to school kit which includes a uniform shirt, a pair of uniform pants, school supplies, and a backpack. After assembling the kits, volunteers will help distribute these items when CPS caseworkers and case aides arrive to pick them up from the BEAR Warehouse.
