KTDG Celebrates KIDSGIVING with Food Drive

Demonstrating once again that kids can make a difference at any age, Kids That Do Good is partnering with community schools, youth organizations and mentor/marketing firm DXagency to supply 100 Thanksgiving Dinner baskets to families at the Bergen County Center for Hope and Safety, a shelter and service provider to women and children affected by domestic violence.

Four local schools and girl school troops are working to collect donations in the week leading up to Thanksgiving. Canned food items, soups, roasting pans, and other staples are being assembled at Leonia High School, where members of DXagency will join Kids That Do Good founders Jake and Max Klein to help organize the drive and pack the baskets for delivery.

Each month, the Klein twins identify a charity for the organization to support and use their website, KidsThatDoGood.com to encourage others to join them. The Center for Hope and Safety provides a continuum of services aimed at helping women and children affected by domestic achieve safety, empowerment and self-sufficiency. Their life-saving programs include: a 24-hour hotline; a confidential emergency shelter; transitional housing, crisis counseling; case management; children’s programming; legal assistance; Hispanic outreach; financial literacy and work-readiness training; follow-up services; and community education.
